VASSARAS
S.A. is a company that for the past three decades is producing garments
(like T-shirts, S-shirts, Polo-shirts, Trousers, knitted skirts, sweat-shirts
etc.) for exports, not only throughout the E.U. but also overseas.
Our main policy was to develop and maintain in-house crucial capabilities, like fully computer-aided design (CAD), knitting, cutting, sewing and packaging. Printing and embroidering is also available by the use of highly specialized companies that work exclusively for us. Moreover, in order to achieve standardization in our production procedure as well as repeatability of our products we have undertaken some further steps:
1. Establishment of our own dyeing factory (FARBETEX S.A).
2. Use of brand name yarns and high quality Greek cotton yarns.
3.
Introducing a process for controlling the fabrics.
4. Establishment of a specialized laboratory for yarns and fabrics.
5. Acquisition of specialized software from the Cotton Technology International, UK, for controlling the characteristics of the yarns and fabrics and ensure the outcome of the knitting and dyeing procedure.
6. Continuous training of our staff in order to absorb the new production technologies and improve quality and competitiveness of our products
The result of the above-mentioned restructuring of our production procedure was to assure the high standards of our products. Thus, we were awarded the Certificate for Quality Assurance EN 29001/ISO 9001 in 1994, being the first Greek knitwear producer to obtain it. It must also be stressed, that the quality assurance is achieved without realizing heavy additional costs within the production procedure, hence by fully applying the concept of value for money for our garments.
The production capability is around 1,200,000 PCs per year in different styles produced in fabrics knitted by circular knitting machines in a broad variety of Gauge (14, 16, 18, 20, 24, 28 needles per inch).
We have Summer and Winter fashion collection with many different styles for men, women, children as well as unisex styles, in all sorts of different fabrics, sizes and colors. The fabrics currently available utilize all the different cotton fibers as well as artificial fibers like viscose, rayon, polyester, modal, lien, and microfibres like polyamide, micromodal, micropolyester etc. All the above qualities are also being used in different mixtures in order to achieve softness, comfort and transparency.
Some further research on special fabrics and finishings is made to develop and introduce new characteristics in our products.
We normally expect minimums of at least 300 PCs per color on a basis of four colors per design for the Winter garments with the addition of 100 PCs per color for Summer garments. It is our policy to request approximately six weeks for delivery, depending, though, on the specific order, but our normal lead-time is between 4-5 weeks. In some occasions even a three week delivery is achieved.
